I’ve had a bit of a lucky streak the past few weeks, so when It’s In Nottingham posted a competition to win tickets to a spoon carving workshop, I fancied my chances. I didn’t win.

What a roller coaster few months it’s been in our household!
It’s been soooo sunny in Nottingham! But don’t moan too much about this mini heatwave we are having, give it a couple of days and no doubt we’ll be back to the ‘is it/isn’t it going to rain’ summer lottery that’ll have you in and out more than the ockey cockey as you gamble on how long you can leave the washing on the line.
It’s only the beginning of summer, so hopefully there are lots more ‘perfect weather’ days to come. Last weekend we headed out for a picnic in the park – a great way of getting out of the house for the day with minimal cost and if you’ve got kids then there’s lots of open space and fresh air to tire them out. It’s that time of the year again where you might get roped into taking part in the office Secret Santa. It’s all ok if you end up with a good gift but let’s face it you probably need to start practicing your fake laugh/smile for when you get gifted several items of unicorn themed stationary that you can’t possibly take to your quarterly forecasting meeting!
Hidden gems… I literally hate it when articles label anything as a hidden gem when it really isn’t. I read so many articles on social media nowadays that claim to list the ‘5 best hidden gems in Nottingham’ and then go on to list a load of places that sure ain’t hidden.
