Whether you’re looking for a Father’s Day gift for dad or you’re the one who’s got to get your partner’s present from the little one(s) (when exactly are they going to start financially contributing?). If you’ve left it a bit late, you’re not the only one!
I had this horrible realisation on the way home from work that it’s Father’s Day on Sunday and I’ve done nothing! Cutting it a bit fine to do any shopping online, I thought my best bet was to look local and as always I’m so glad I did!
To help you out, here are three Father’s Day gifts I’ve found that you can pick up right here in Notts! You’re welcome.
Everything about this set is gorgeous, from the chunky stoneware mug to the presentation box, it’s just pure class. The mugs are hand thrown at Parkwood Pottery in Derby and it’ll definitely be his favourite mug in the cupboard (always gutted when mine’s in the dishwasher). Because they’re all hand made, no two cups are the same, Lane’s versions are available in a lovely speckled white or granite blue finish.
In the box you also get a bag of coffee beans from Notts based Outpost Coffee Roasters.
I got this set for my brother-in-law for Christmas and he loved it and I’m sure your dad/significant other will too.
Lane are based at Primary and are open Friday 11am – 6pm and Saturday 10.30am – 4pm so there’s two chances to pick one up before Sunday (if you give them a ring you can usually go at other times too). They’re also super nice in there and happily show you around their amazing studio.
With summer just around the corner Father’s Day is the perfect time to buy green fingered dads a lemon tree for the garden. They aren’t the easiest to look after, but in the summer months they can be outside in a pot and you can take them in when it turns cold. They flower all year round so smell amazing too.
I’d recommend going to Reg Taylor’s Garden Centre in Southwell, it’s a fab day out in itself, so really it’s a treat for everyone in the family (ring ahead if you’re set on the tree though to check they’re in stock). The staff are really knowledgeable so can advise on how to maintain it, the RHS also have a great guide.
Hamper from Delilah
Sorry the pic is a bit old
Delilah Fine Foods in Nottingham city centre is a foodies paradise, packed with 1000’s of delicious products. It’s perfect for dads who are into barbecuing or snacking on something a bit finer than a pack of crisps (although they do have nice ones of those too). Their Gentleman’s Hamper features sweet and savoury treats and a bottle of Delilah lager so would make a great gift, but there’s loads to choose from in there so you could make your own hamper of his favourites!
Good luck last minute daredevils and I hope you have a great day on Sunday.
